Mariam Makramalla
MA in Comparative and International Education at the AUC 2013-2015
  • Mariam was funded by Al Alfi Foundation to pursue an MA in International and Comparative Education at AUC, a stepping stone that enabled her to later apply for a Ph.D. in the Faculty of Education at Cambridge University.
  • Mariam has taken up multiple stances in the area of education. She is a licensed Cambridge Partnerships Consultant working with Ministries of Education (mainly in the Arab world) on health checks for their curricular revisions. She is also a licensed Cambridge Math Consultant working in particular on task mapping for mathematics secondary stage tasks in the British system (and will be taking up a curricular mapping task in Egypt in the coming months). She is an assistant professor at the AUC professional development program for teachers. She taught different modules at the Professional Educators Diploma catering to pre-service and in-service teachers from the leadership and STEM tracks. Mariam now also acts as an adjunct professor for their MA track. 
  • Additionally, Mariam also has extensive consultancy experience in the field of education. She has been involved in the Homerton Changemaker programme as a research consultant, working with the Reading Agency in London in creating and fast-tracking their reading programme. She has also been involved with the Cambridge Hubs, a research community that engages with local educational consultancy projects.
