Educational Opportunities

The Educator Empowerment Program is one of Al Alfi Foundation’s flagship programs that focuses on teachers and school principals as the change makers in the educational field. The Foundation strongly believes that giving greater importance to educators’ professional development translates to better teaching and learning outcomes in our classrooms.
The main objective for Scholarships for Educators  program is to provide educators with better support to improve their competencies and effectiveness in schools through offering scholarships for advanced study levels, enrollment in accredited certifications, and opportunities to participate in global competitions and international conferences.

INTERNATIONAL EDUCATION MANAGEMENT (INEMA) AT PH LUDWIGSBURG UNIVERSITY (GERMANY) AND HELWAN UNIVERSITY (EGYPT)

About the program

International Education Management (INEMA) is a joint venture of the Ludwigsburg University of Education, Germany and Helwan University, Cairo, Egypt. It is designed to provide and develop managerial and leadership skills as well as competencies for cross-cultural challenges in education management and for international reform processes in education.
The program enables participants to take responsibility, to adopt innovative ideas for modern education processes, set up strategies and structures as well as implement quality development. Focusing on cross-cultural and sector-specific learning transfer induces relevance as a guiding principle of the program.
Al Alfi Foundation has been sponsoring 3-5 fellows annually since the inauguration of this program in 2014 with tremendous success.

Program outcomes

Upon completing the program, recipients will be able to:

  • Develop innovative and creative approaches and reforms dealing with modern educational concepts, strategies and processes of quality development and assurance using conceptual, procedural, and analytic thinking;
  • Organize their educational institutions and structures efficiently and functionally.

Graduates receive a joint master’s degree, and the program is accredited in both Germany and Egypt.

INTERNATIONAL AND COMPARATIVE EDUCATION FELLOWSHIP AT AUC (EGYPT)

The MA in international and comparative education, jointly offered by Al Alfi Foundation and the American University in Cairo (AUC) represented by Graduate School of Education (GSE), aims to enhance educators’ skills as agents of change in educational development, policy, higher education internationalization, and international schools.
Focusing on education from a global and comparative standpoint, the program equips students with professional competencies in education reform on a worldwide scale. Through diverse interdisciplinary courses spanning early childhood policy, rural girls’ education, citizenship development, and teacher evaluation, students gain insight into the multifaceted aspects of education. The MA program offers two study concentrations: teaching and learning; and international education development and policy.
With concentrations in teaching and learning, and international education development and policy, the program caters to educators aspiring to effect change in Egypt, the Middle East, and beyond. Suitable for professionals in various educational sectors, including Pre-K12 schools, universities, NGOs, government agencies, and research organizations, as well as those interested in pursuing doctoral studies in education-related fields.

PROFESSIONAL EDUCATOR DIPLOMA PROGRAM (PED) AT AUC (EGYPT)

Al Alfi Foundation offers the Professional Educator Diploma (PED) in collaboration with the American University in Cairo’s (AUC) Graduate School of Education (GSE). It is designed for educators, school owners and government supervisors who wish to improve themselves and their schools through studies focused on educational leadership and the education of early and adolescent learners.

Program outcomes

Upon completing, educators learn how to:

  • Effectively work with parents and community partners to deliver high quality instructional programs.
  • Utilize resources in efficient and productive ways.
  • Manage people respectfully and constructively.

The Diploma Tracks are accredited by Egypt’s Supreme Council of Universities and are automatically recognized by the Ministry of Education. They are the only such programs available in Egypt in English.
