Al Alfi Foundation has consistently supported exceptional students in this endeavor by funding MSc programs at renowned global universities such as Harvard University (USA), the University of Sheffield (UK), KU Leuven (Belgium), Paris-Descartes University (France), Technical University of Munich, and Martin Luther University (Germany).
The application period for the M.Sc. Program opens annually on January 1 and closes on April 30 at 4:00 pm
Master’s of Science in Sustainable Development – The American University in Cairo
Al Alfi Foundation offers fellowships to exceptional students for the Master’s program in sustainable development at the American University in Cairo (AUC). This program is designed to create leaders who have a comprehensive understanding of the challenges in sustainable development. It covers various aspects of sustainability, including economic, environmental, and social dimensions. Students engage in both theoretical and practical learning, with opportunities for community-based activities. They can choose concentrations in sciences and engineering, business studies, public policy, or social sciences, tailored to their interests and academic background.
This program is coordinated by AUC’s Center for Applied Research on the Environment and Sustainability (CARES), and involves multiple schools within AUC, including Sciences and Engineering, Business, Global Affairs and Public Policy, and Humanities and Social Sciences.
STEM Master’s Degree Fellowships – International Universities
Al Alfi Foundation provides fellowships for outstanding students to the Master’s program in STEM-related degrees at AUC. This fellowship program will enable qualified Egyptian science and engineering graduates to attend AUC’s STEM graduate programs, encouraging them to engage in meaningful research and contribute to their respective fields.
Biotechnology – The American University in Cairo
The Al Alfi Biotechnology fellowship program is jointly offered by Al Alfi Foundation and The American University in Cairo (AUC) represented by its School of Science and Engineering (SSE). The program is designed to prepare future Egyptians scientists and industrial leaders who have strong knowledge and skills in science and engineering.
The program is intended to enable qualified Egyptian science and engineering graduates to attend AUC’s reputable biotechnology program. The long-term objective of the program is to develop the manpower for research and development in the region by providing the skill sets for future scientists who are easily recruited to biotechnology and pharmaceutical industrial positions in Egypt and the region.
The degree includes fundamentals and frontline applications in the field of biotechnology, regulatory affairs, intellectual property issues, and ethics related to various aspects of biotechnology, in addition to the principles and requirements of bio-entrepreneurship.
Eligibility criteria
To apply for a fellowship offered by Al Alfi Foundation, applicants must meet the following criteria:

Nationality
Applicants should be Egyptian nationals.

Age Requirement
Candidates must be under 45 years of age by January 1st of the fellowship year they are applying for.

Work Experience
For a Master’s degree fellowship, at least two years of relevant work experience is required.

Admission in a Reputable Institution
Applicants must be unconditionally admitted to a Master’s degree program or have a Ph.D. research proposal agreed upon with a reputable international institution in a STEM-related field. Unconditional admission means meeting all academic requirements set by the institution.

Candidates should show evidence of outstanding potential for professional advancement and the ability to make a significant impact in their chosen field.
