Mohamed Saad
M.Sc. in Photonics from AIX-Marseille University, France and KIT Karlsruhe Institute of Technology, Germany/ 2017-2019
  • Mohamed received partial funding from Al Alfi Foundation to pursue his Master’s degree in Photonics. His thesis experimentally demonstrated that self-assembled monolayers (SAMs) can be used to enhance the optical transmission of the ITO layer. Furthermore, the optical transmission of the ITO can be tuned by playing on the recipe used for SAMs, and deposition conditions.
  • Mohamed is now enrolled at the Eindhoven University of Technology in the Netherlands to pursue a Ph.D. in nanophotonics. His current research at the surface photonics group surfacephotonics.org mainly focuses on integrating nanophotonics in commercial LEDs to achieve ultra-high brightness and compact LED. The project is in close cooperation with Lumileds Holding B.V.
