Al Alfi Foundation and Alexandria University have formed a collaborative partnership to support young researchers in the field of pharmacy. This partnership, signed in January 2024, highlights Al Alfi Foundation’s dedication to promoting academic excellence and advancing scientific research. The foundation provides financial support for selected students, interviews candidates, and promotes the scholarship program to reach the right audiences. A rigorous selection process is in place to ensure the most deserving candidates are chosen. This collaboration marks a significant step toward advancing scientific knowledge in the pharmacy sector and demonstrates a shared commitment to nurturing young talent.

In addition, Al Alfi Foundation is involved in the Online Pharmacogenomics and Personalized Medicine (OPPM) Postgraduate Program, demonstrating a strategic collaboration between Al Alfi and Alexandria University. This partnership aligns with the foundation’s mission to promote human development through education and capacity building, with a focus on innovative and specialized fields like pharmacogenomics and personalized medicine. The program addresses a significant gap in higher education by providing specialized training in pharmacogenomics, a field that studies how genes affect a person’s response to drugs, and personalized medicine, which tailors treatments to individual genetic profiles.

Al Alfi Foundation’s role in the OPPM program involves leading dissemination and sustainability activities, ensuring effective communication, and promoting the program’s outcomes to a broader audience. This is crucial in raising awareness about the importance of pharmacogenomics in improving healthcare and reducing adverse drug reactions. Furthermore, the foundation’s involvement in quality control monitoring and quality assurance ensures that the program maintains high educational standards.

Through this partnership, all consortium members are not only advancing the field of pharmacogenomics but also creating opportunities for students, researchers, and healthcare professionals to gain specialized knowledge and skills. This collaboration reflects the foundation’s commitment to supporting innovative educational programs that have a lasting impact on Egypt’s healthcare sector and contribute to the development of a knowledge-based economy.
