The United Nations Development Programme (UNDP) and the Mohammed bin Rashid Al Maktoum Knowledge Foundation (MBRF) under the umbrella of the Knowledge Project, held the Knowledge Week for Sustainable Development in Egypt in February 2020 in cooperation with the Ministry of Higher Education and Scientific Research and Al Alfi Foundation. This event was a significant gathering that brought together a diverse group of individuals including government representatives, journalists, media professionals, researchers, private sector figures, and students.
A notable aspect of this event was the participation of 72 youth, who were carefully selected from over 1,000 applicants from various regions across Egypt. These young participants worked on developing innovative ideas aimed at addressing developmental and knowledge-related challenges. Their contributions were focused on the overarching goal of establishing a knowledge-based society and advancing sustainable development within Egypt
